World’s Smallest Solar Cell !

The researchers at the University of South Florida invented the world’s smallest solar cells, about the size of a lowercase letter, with twenty aligning to form one panel at just one inch. The researchers say that these are some of the smallest solar cells ever.
These cells are indicated for many common hand-held devices like iPods and cell phones, powered at a source of 7.8 volts. I say that because a panel, made from a non silicon organic polymer, is not quite powerful enough to run the tiny chemical sensor.
Xiaomei Jiang, the lead researchers said that by the end of the year, the array will be optimized for higher voltage. In comparison with traditional silicon, these materials have a lot more potential. This is an amazing invention and i think that in the future, the researchers will improve more these solar cells.
