Volvo Launches First Hybrid Bus!

The Volvo company has launched the first hybrid bus, which presents the advantage of a reduced energy consumption, up to 30%.
In terms of costs, the auto manufacturer announced that the depreciation of the investment will be made in 5-7 years. The first applications for the Volvo 7700 hybrid will be honored in 2009. The Volvo 7700 hybrid system is named I-SAM, and consists of a combined electric motor, electronic control unit, start motor and a generator.This bus join to the hybrid buses which are built by General Motors and Daimler.

Toronto has Hyrid buses already but the battery is the biggest issue as its not lasting and charging as much as promised.
