The company Konarka Technologies, a leader in the flexible solar film market is working to integrate solar power charging function into bags and clothing. A smart and environmentally interesting product, the Powerbrella is the latest development Konarka is exploring in partnership with SKYShades a Florida-based company making retractable and fixed architectural ‘SKYbrellas’.

Massachusetts-based Konarka Technologies Inc. has developed a transparent plastic solar cell that it hopes will be built onto electricity-generating windows. The Lowell, Mass.-based company on Tuesday said it has reached an agreement with Arch Aluminum & Glass to use Konarka’s plastic solar cells in building materials, including windows.
