Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch this year plug-in hybrid variant of S-Class, having great aerodynamic properties and improvements in its weight, which coupled with the hybrid drivetrain, allow the car to emit less than 100g/km of CO2 and boast a fuel efficiency of 80mpg.

About 150 Prius vehicles belonging to a new generation will be tested in Europe by the Japanese producer  to see how these cars behave in real life. The models can be loaded from any outlet and are equipped with a new lithium-ion battery.

In the next years, Toyota hybrid fleet will be equipped with ecological plastic that will be made of plants. In January at the Detroit Auto Show, Toyota will presents its new Prius equipped with “green plastic”. Another important thing to know is that these plants are not edible, being cultivated only for plastic materials use.

Honda completes its hybrid range for 2010 with the Jazz model. The hybrid will have the same gas engine as the Insight model. The 1.3-liter engine will be assisted by another electric motor, for a consumption of 3 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 90 g / km.
