Dale Vince, Britain’s richest green entrepreneur and the founder of green energy supplier Ecotricity (an energy provider which invests profits into wind turbines) aims to break the land speed record in an all-electric vehicle called the Nemesis.

Scientists from Fraunhofer Institute of Chemical Technology have improved the performance of redox flow batteries, presenting a huge advantage for electric vehicles. What is amazing at the redox batteries is that these can be recharged in minutes.

A Japanese research team at Nippon’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology in association with Kawasaki Heavy Industries, have developed new nickel-hydrogen battery that that recharges in less than 10 seconds.

About 150 Prius vehicles belonging to a new generation will be tested in Europe by the Japanese producer  to see how these cars behave in real life. The models can be loaded from any outlet and are equipped with a new lithium-ion battery.
