Israel’s Largest Solar Installation Comes Into Operation

Israel’s largest solar installation has been inaugurated Monday, marking the cooperation between China and Israel in the clean energy field.

According to official estimates, the solar project will generate up to 85,000 kilowatts of electricity per year. It was built by the Chinese company Suntech Power Holdings and was incorporated in the Israel’s national energy network.

“It is very appropriate and natural that the Chinese and Israeli companies to work for this project,” said Chinese Ambassador in Israel,  Zhao Jun.

The Israeli official, Ben-Eliezer, said that 20% of Israel’s electricity will be generated from renewable sources until 2020.  The Suntech company have announced that it plans to build a higher solar installation in southern Israel.
